Couples
Therapy
Couples therapy is an opportunity for couples to get to know one another on a deeper level. In any relationship, we all have needs and desires that shape how we communicate and interact with our partners. When these needs are clear and mutually understood, it paves the way for thriving relationships. If these needs remain unclear or unknown, they can strain our relationship and erode the intimacy and trust we share.

How I work with couples
As an associate marriage and family therapist, I approach the challenges faced by couples with empathy and understanding. I believe difficulties arise from unmet needs and a lack of feeling seen and heard by our partners. In couples therapy, I work alongside couples as a collaborator, helping them identify their patterns of interaction and where they may be missing each other. A key aspect of this process is guiding each partner to a deeper understanding of themselves and their relational needs and desires. When partners have a clearer sense of who they are in a relationship, it empowers them to communicate their wants more openly, which can enhance a couple's sense of closeness and intimacy.

Our journey to achieving this may involve communication exercises or exploring how past experiences shape the way we show up in our relationship. Regardless of the specific approach, I provide a safe and supportive space for couples to explore their relationship dynamics and discover ways to build trust and meaning in their partnership.
